The Americas, made up of North America and South America, are two massive continents that extend from the freezing Arctic in the north to the windy edge of Patagonia in the south. Covering more than 42 million square kilometres, the Americas have all kinds of landscapes, weather, and cultures, making them one of Earth’s most varied places. The Atlantic Ocean sits to the east of these continents, while the Pacific Ocean is on the west.
